What is SoGEA?
SoGEA stands for Single Order Generic Ethernet Access. It is a broadband access product that does not require a traditional analogue phone service alongside the broadband circuit.
For partners, SoGEA is useful when a customer needs a straightforward broadband connection but does not yet have access to FTTP. It can also be used during copper-to-fibre transition projects where full fibre rollout is happening at different speeds across customer sites.
Where SoGEA fits in a wholesale portfolio
SoGEA should not be treated as the final destination for every customer, but it is still important for coverage, continuity and commercial flexibility. Many customer estates include sites where FTTP is available, sites where leased lines are justified and sites where SoGEA is the practical broadband option.
A wholesale partner can help you position SoGEA correctly, compare it with FTTP, and avoid overpromising performance for customers whose requirements are better suited to dedicated Ethernet.
Partner benefits
Wholesale Broadband UK gives partners one support and escalation route across broadband products. That reduces the operational friction of managing broadband orders while still giving your customers a clear path from legacy services to newer connectivity options.
SoGEA can be paired with managed routers, hosted voice, SD-WAN, failover, security services and IT support packages to increase monthly recurring revenue.
